Scott and I met in 2012 at Stonewall Kitchen running their Cooking School together. Me a business manager with a love of food and Scott a veteran and Executive Chef. We soon discovered we worked quite well together and loved the endless creativity and continual education that a Cooking School offered. We also learned a great deal about the production of specialty foods from some of the best in the business.

I had zero experience growing cannabis but have always loved organic gardening. My favorite job when I was younger was working on a 12 acre organic farm near my parents’ home in Pennsylvania that supplied Philadelphia’s four star restaurants with beautiful vegetables, herbs and edible flowers. I remember standing at the potting table in the greenhouse in the winter, feeling the sun on my face, my hands in the warm soil, inhaling the rich vibrant air. Scott had experience growing cannabis in addition to his culinary talents and experience, so we got our hands on a few seeds and a few years later in January of 2019 Zenia Cannabis Co. was born.

We believe in a whole approach to wellness. First step, love what you do. We know that when your passion aligns with your profession, that’s when the magic happens. We also know what we put in our bodies is important. That’s why we take great care in what goes into our edibles. We don’t use artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. Our products are made with natural ingredients from which we select only the highest quality.

When searching for a name that expressed our philosophy and who we are, we came across the Greek word philoxenia which translated means “friend to the stranger”. We knew that Zenia felt like home to us and that’s exactly the feeling we wanted to share with our friends. Scott said, “how about Zenia?” And that was it. We decided to pronounce it ZEN-ee-a emphasizing the zen of wellness and exactly what we’re all about.
